Love Her Toronto Gala 2013

The second annual Love Her Gala is an evening of fashion, comedy and music in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada.  The packed event took place in the Corus Quay building.  Comedian Jessica Holmes was The Master of Ceremonies, and she kept the laughs coming throughout the evening.  The runway show featured the latest Spring 2013 collection from Canadian label Judith & Charles and shoes from Stuart Weitzman.  The action packed live auction featured items like vacation packages to Paris for two, shopping experience from Bayview Village and dinner with the Toronto Professional Firefighters Association.  The evening ended with the award presentation for the Karen Campbell National Award for Research Excellence to Dr. Anne-Marie Mes-Masson from Montreal and performance from violinist Sophie Serafino.

Some facts about Ovarian Caner:
– 2,600 women are newly diagnosed each year in Canada
– Every year 1,750 women die from ovarian cancer
– Late detection results in five-year survival rates of less than 30%
– There is no effective screening test for ovarian cancer
