Startup Fashion Week 2017 launch

Startup Fashion Week (SFW), founded in 2014 to bridge the gap emerging designers and tech industries and focuses on aiding to launch, accelerate, and sustain these startup businesses, according to founder and executive producer Jodi Goodfellow.  SFW has featured designers in the past such as Amanda Maria, Atelier Guarin, She Native, We Are Kings and fashion tech startups such as Daniel Christian Tang, Prodmode and Muse in its previous years.

This year event kicked off with a launch party at Toronto City Hall, followed by presentations from three emerging designers, showcasing their latest streetwear from 6ixset and Ly Seven that will be launching in September.  Also presented are a beautiful line of ready-to-wear collection from Rowes Fashion.  The week long Startup Fashion Week will be happening for 5 days from October 16, with networking event, a Future of Fashion Forum, Business of Fashion Conference, Eco Fashion Forum, and a runway show featuring collections from 6 emerging Canadian apparel designers, 4 accessory designers and 2 wearable tech startups.  Some of the speakers confirmed at these events include Kelly Drennan, Founding Executive Director of Fashion Takes ActionCamille Kowalewski, Head of Communications at eBay Canada and Lee McLaven, President and Owner of Laven Labels.
