WFG Emerging Menswear Designer Award (EMDA) is an annual national competition for new and upcoming Canadian menswear label. Partnered with Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI), where the top finalists shows their Spring/Summer 2017 collection during Toronto Men’s Fashion Week SS2017. The winner of the competition will be awarded $10,000.00, plus a one-year membership at Toronto Fashion Incubator including mentoring from industry leaders. A runway show at TOM* FW 2017 and a Feature in TOM* Magazine.
Here are the 4 finalists, Emeline Morellet and Stephen Smith and their label LES INCOMPÉTENTS, Tristan Licud, The Travelling Tailor Inc by Nabeel Sheikh, and Curtis Oland.
And the winner for this season of EMDA is Curtis Oland, who also recently shows its debuting collection at Ryerson School of Fashion’s Mass Exodus (we featured highlights from the show here). We in Tofashionistas.com are looking forward to Curtis’s collection at TOM*FW2017.
